Around 35 years ago I brought home my first handgun and showed it to my Dad. It was a Ruger single six, he shook his head and said "just get it over with and buy a Smith." That wasn't to say Rugers were bad guns as he had both, but S&W's were just more refined. Dad was right as usual. The next gun I brought home was a S&W M28 6", that brought a smile to his face. Wish I still had it and even more wish Dad was still around. For many years between then and now I just shot mostly 1911's. Then I bought some land in the country and being a cheap swede, I couldn't stand loosing all my brass in the grass. So now it's back to S&W's and I found I really like the round guns better anyway.

Isn't it a pain to dig through the snow for .45 brass. It melts the snow and sinks down in there, and then it's always full of ice and wet when you get it back in the house . . .

Welcome to the round gun forum!

Welcome Carl!
From someone who once knew the feel of the Daley family's Florsheims being held against his neck!
(My old man was right about it too)
