In case you're not familiar with Slapout, Alabama, it's exactly half-way between Flea Hop and Possum Trot (IOW, just as rural as it sounds... and no, none of that is made up).
I am brand new to this forum but far from new to firearms, S&Ws, or gun discussion forums. If any of you frequent AR15.COM and a few others you are probably already familiar with me. For good or bad, yes, I am "that" HardShell.
For those of you who know nothing about me (most of you, I would assume), I am a happily married 45yo father of three wonderful children -- a son (8yo) and twin girls (5yo), never a dull moment!!! I work in state government in the field of maternal and child health and my wife is senior staff attorney for a Justice on our State Supreme Court. We have a small farm surrounded by larger farms, most belonging to relatives of my wife. (And that affords us the luxury of a private 100 yard range with a permanent shooting house within walking distance from the front door.

I am a lifelong gun enthusiast (raised in a military family) and have a fairly extensive firearms collection. I have CCW'd daily since I was licensed (way back at 18) and train/practice/take classes mostly in defensive shooting, but I do still enjoy hunting (mostly whitetail, and more for the meat than anything else) and informal plinking. I am a Benefactor Life Member of the NRA and my wife and all three children are LMs as well. I have chaired the local FoNRA banquets here off and on for years, and we tend to be very politically involved in general.
Even though my firearms collection is quite diverse (including several NFA goodies) Smith and Wesson is, if anything, over-represented there -- S&Ws make up approximately 10% of my overall collection, more than any other manufacturer. We (some of these are my wife's) currently own S&W revolvers (a few 10s, 15, 17, two 19s, 28, 317, two 36s, 38, 586, 60, 617, two 629s, 638, 65, 66, 686, and a couple of old 1917 .45s), pistols (22A, 22S, 41, 4586, two 469s, 5906TSW, 5943, 645, 669, 910, and 915), and even a rifle (M&P-15 in 5.45x39mm) and have owned many others over the years. I'll come back in a bit and post pics of most/all of them. All things considered, I should probably be ashamed that I never joined this forum before now.
