Greetings to all from the central Virginia area. Some of you may know of our big local shop, Greentop. I have visited the Forum many times, and am impressed with the quality of members' expertise.
My wife and I appreciate the superb workmanship in blue and wood of older Smiths. I carried a Victory .38, and 18 rounds, in Vietnam '67-'68, when I was assigned to First Signal Brigade.
Grew up on a farm, showed horses on the East Coast, watched Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Have Gun Will Travel -- and learned to fast-draw with my trusty Mattel Fanner 50. My grandfather had a beat-up old .22 single shot rifle; it taught me much.
First handgun: Colt .22 Peacemaker. It was my only sidearm for many years. My wife introduced me to her Model 34, and shortly after that, I walked into Greentop, asked to see a .38, and they handed me a Model 15. I was smitten.
Enough. Don't want to hog the forum.
Thanks to all of you for such an excellent forum.
