New M&P owner here. I bought a 40c Thursday and I love the way it shoots and feels in my hands. I once owned a 40 cal XD compact but it felt really clunky in my hands.

Being new to pistols, I am looking for any input you have to give me. I will be getting my CCW permit in the next month hopefully.

Anyways, here is the gun...

Well, your first choice was pretty darn good. I too have the M&P40c and love it. Others will be along for more input like holsters, etc.

Make sure you give that weapon a full inspection and cleaning before you go to the range with it.

You can sleep assured that you have made a wise decision, if I had it my way no one owning a semi auto pistol would own anything other then an M&P 40 fullsize or a M&P40 Compact or even a M&P Shield40 like I have but not being the gun god and the mere human that I am I love all my 40's and trust them all as well as you should.

Congrats on your purchase. .40 is actually 3 in 1 gun, you can drop in .357 sig or 9 mm barrels.

Congrats I too just purchased a .40 FS and I love it!
I also own a 15-22 which I cant get enough of

Thanks guys. Yes, I need to get a holster next. Badly. There are just so many different types and it all depends on how you want to carry.

Ok guys, new member and new owner of a S&W M&P PSX. I picked my new rifle up on a Thursday and returned it on Friday. Two reasons, the first: The dealer went through disassembly at the shop and we noticed that there wasn't a spring on the bolt and Second: All parts that are described as being Chromed were not. I know when they say chromed they don't mean like a car bumper, but all the parts (Barrel bore, gas key, chamber, and bolt carrier) had the same coating as the rest of the rifle. After returning the rifle I find out that they have shut down for two weeks. Not my best start with Smith and Wesson. Can anyone explain the change of not needing the bolt spring? Any other feedback on this rifle good or bad?
