I am new to this forum. I need help with info on my model 586. The serial number is ACK0843. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll guess late 1983 or prior to Jun 1984. The 3 letter prefixes are hard to pin down. S&W began to transition to them btw 1980 and 1983.
