New Outdoor Gun Range

Silver Creek Conservation Club Underwood, Indiana will soon open a new outdoor range to members. SCCC has a long history of providing a first class shooting facility for competitive shooting.
We are very excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Our journey began Jan. 2022 when the property we leased for 40 years was sold, (a long long story of many chapters).
SCCC purchased a 91 acre property a year ago. We are
nearing completion of phase 1 construction.

Cool ! Good luck !! We need a lot more nation wide !
We recently had a range closed due to complaints from newbies moving into the area . Of course the range was there long before they were, but local government saw things different.

As club officers we presented to local county gov't a zoning appeal change. Our presenting officer, very fluent in local gov't presented an undeniable presentation. Meeting all requirements we were approved. There were neighbors who opposed. However we bought our property @ auction. Everyone had the opportunity to bid and chose to sit on the sideline. Our range property is in a very 2nd amendment friendly region. We are utilizing the property in a way to minimize noise. We have obstacles to over come but will fight for our rights.

Congrats. Outdoor ranges are disappearing in CA due to government interference and residential expansion. A very nice range operation in the East Bay Hills, complete with often used police ranges, was shut down after 50 years because snowflakes complained of the noise. That wasn't the REAL reason of course, but that is what worked.

Clay County Florida just opened the pistol and 100 yard rifle range. Next will be a " house clearing range", skeet, trap and sporting clays. Hopefully a longer rifle range will be opened soon.

Congratulations. As mentioned, more ranges are needed. The process can be overwhelming. Continue the good work.
