So I traded in my walther p22 today for a used m&p 9. I was looking for a core series but came across this. I can pick it up Tuesday as I live in Illinois.:( got 300 for my trade and paid 499 for the m&p 9 with 3-17 round mags. Good deal? I'm pretty excited about it. What kind of upgrades are out there for it?

I'be been looking at the apex kit for a while. Do I go with the full kit with the trigger. I will for sure put a couple hundred rounds though it before I make any decisions. I have also seen some storm lake drop in barrels at midway. are they worth it?

The best upgrade, IMHO, is to get lots of ammo and shoot it. Try it first and determine what you need. After the first range session with my M&P9 FS, I have concluded that I only need to change my sights.

I wanted to say get more magazines but it's a moot point at this time.

I just put the new poly trigger on my FS and compact but am still considering the sear and "duty" spring set. I have never heard anyone say that they were sorry that they did the APEX kit, only heard glowing remarks, so doing it all at once might be the smartest.

As for the barrel, since you have a 9mm I wouldn't bother with other barrels, if you had a .40, then dropping in a 9mm barrel sometimes lets you have a second caliber for a pretty cheap price, but just changing the 9mm barrel to another 9mm barrel seems unnecessary to me.
