Ruger just announced an LCRx with a 3" barrel and adjustable sights. I Just got an email with pics. Wow! Spec sheet shows it at 15.7oz. A 3" adj sight tube under 16oz. The grip is longer than the standard LCR so your pinky should fit on it. I've shot LCR's before and the trigger is good though not 'better' than the 642 IMHO.

Did I mention that I'm a sucker for 3" barrels and adj sights? I should have mentioned that.

I'm a 642, 60 (2" and 3", both .38 and .357) fan. I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these. I've always been basically indifferent between the 642 and LCR but went with the 642 because it works better in my pocket compared to the Ruger's Hogue overmoulded (sp?) grip.

I won't post the link so as to not advertise for Ruger but it is on their website.

I had been eyeing a new standard 3" model 60 for some time and found a 3" 36-1 in the process and am very happy with that choice. But a 3" AS LCRx should be really fun gun.

I found a picture on another website. I gotta say, I like the original LCR and LCRx, but that's pretty ugly.

Gentlemen,
Any field reports on this revolver? I think this is a very good concept for Ruger; lightweight, powerful trail/camping gun and a good HD revolver for non-gun nuts. A 22 version would sell well to IMHO. I'll be looking to check one of these out at the next gun show.

Have one, like it. Accurate but hard to shoot well due to the light weight. I would recommend over the short barrel LCR for self defense where concealment is not the most important concern.
