The six-inch was a "target" model; they came with a target trigger and hammer. All no-dash 617s, as well as some later dash numbers, came with flash-chromed triggers and hammers. The "target" package wasn't available on the four-inch but it also had flash-chromed parts. I replaced them with target parts but could only find case-hardened ones. I replaced the rear sights on both guns with Millets - they offer a slightly better sight picture but unfortunately haven't been made for many years. They usually fetch high prices when you find any.

I much prefer the target trigger and hammer and of course my 4 inch bbl 617-1 does not have that. I would pay to have them replaced with the target versions but the action is so good on my revolver as is I won't bother with it.
