I've had this revolver for about a year and a half. When I got it the stocks it was wearing were for a K frame, the price was good so it didn't really matter.
Since its purchase I've debated what kind of stocks to get. A couple of weeks ago forum member inshaner2 had a set of non relieved N frame targets in the WTS section and I decided to go for them. The stocks are numbered which is unusual and slightly newer then my 1950. They were a little dulled out so I rubbed them down with some 0000 steel wool gave them a light coat Tung oil that brightened them up nicely.

First photo is the Ks it had when purchased, the rest are the non relieved.

Actually the Ks are a very nice set of GA stocks even if they weren't correct for the 1950.

Very nice~ I also have a Model of 1950 (Pre-Model 26). There just are not many of them to be had. Recently, I picked-up a NOS barrel for one of these also in .45 ACP. I currently have no use for it but was not going to pass it up.

You were fortunate to find such a nice looking set of stocks for yours.

I also have a Model 1950 Target. Mine came with a brand new spare cylinder and barrel that the original owner bought from S&W when he purchased the gun new. His son told me his dad thought he'd shoot it so much he'd wear them out. But he died young and never shot the gun much before passing.

Those 1950 targets are real nice, I have the 1950 Heavy Duty with the 4" barrel. I still have the original grips but they were pretty worn so I put a set of Culina walnuts on it that I finished with tung oil.

I also purchased a nice Model 1950 .45 Target that had later and incorrect stocks. I found a set of non-relieved Target Stocks as well and they make for a nice, vintage combo.
