Got the feeling it was time for another Single Action, but this time, something a little different. Have a bunch of Rugers, but wanted something more old school. I have two Colts and a USFA, .44 spl and .45c, but wanted to try a SAA in .357 mag.
After some looking around, I found a nice one - An Uberti "El Patron Grizzly Paw", polished blue and case colored w/5.5 inch barrel.
This gun is different than most of the Italian imports in several ways. It is "tuned" at the factory, using all Wolfe springs and polished, fitted lockwork. Smoother action and better trigger than my Colts. Grip frame is the same as a Colt 1860 Army, which is longer than a standard 1873 Colt style grip. Now I can get all my fingers on the grip. The fit and finish of this gun is very nice, great actually when you figure its as good as my $2,000.00 Colts. This is a $650.00 gun. My only negatives is the red varnish the Italians insist on using on the nicely checkered grips - It will be coming off. Attached a couple crappy cell phone pics. Hope to hit the range tomorrow if the rain holds off.
