I just got the new Stephen Hunter book "Dead Zero" today and it looks to be up to his usual excellent work. I didnt know he had a new one out and a good friend in L. Rock sent it to me and I'm on page 175 at 6 pm. Jeff

Bob Lee Swagger the hero?

I believe I like the books where he goes back to recount some of Earl Swagger's exploits better.

I read most of them last year in just a few weeks. I need to go back and reread them.

It is getting hard to find good reading. I bogged down in both Clancy's and Griffin's last books. They are both sitting on the shelf, half-read.

Yes its got Bob Lee Swagger and he is 64 years old, also Nick Memphis of the FBI, very well done. Jeff

The last book I read by Stephen Hunter was "HAVANA"... Bob Lee was 9 years-old and learning to shoot; his dad, Earl Swagger, was the main character in the book. I enjoy all of Stephen Hunter's books, "Dirty White Boys" is a great book to read to get the feel for his writing.

Clancy's last (Dead Or Alive) is somewhat better than some of his previous works, and Griffin's latest (The Outlaws) isn't bad, but again not up to his earlier stuff. Both are using 'co-authors' and it shows.
I burned through both of them on the Kindle I got for Christmas. That is one fine invention, particularly going on vacation.

'Dead Zero' is a great read. Stephen Hunter always gets the guns right in his books.
Bob Lee is, just like the rest of us, is aging now, but Hunter seems to be developing a new sniper character to carry on.
