do you know if

alloy frame?
bushingless barrel or bushing?
what kind of recoil spring plug system used?

thanks in advance

Valor Corp also lists a 9MM 1911 and a series 70 1911. I've never hear of Valor Corp. Apparently they are a wholesale distributor.

That is correct..

and I thought I was done for a little while.I might be getting rid of a bright stainless OM

Was info similar to this a while ago here on the forum. Supposed to be a scandium framed Officer's sized gun introduced at SHOT. If they make a scandium Officer's sized frame, there are a number of combinations that can come from that...hopefully a Commander upper and a scandium Officer's lower.

I've spent a couple of hours looking for and reading what little info there is out there, and from S&W's own sight, and this one, shown in picture at link, is not Scandium, just listed as Pro model, alloy frame @ 24oz. I've got a connection at Smith who tells me look for it around April. Also, this one is 3" & Officers barrel is 3 1/2".

Here's the thread;

7 + 1 Officers frame w/ vertical serrations on the front strap. It had ROCO grips ala PRO SERIES, Novak 3 dot combat sights. The 9MM was
a full size stainless w/ the wavy slide serrations like the PC1911. 10 + 1 magazine, also had ROCO grips and was pro-series. 30lpi checkering on front strap 3 dot white non nite sight
NOVAK sights rounded out the package. I wanted to take them both home but they said no way.
They should be out before the SHOT SHOW maybe in Jan. ???

I went to the valorcorp website and did some snooping. I found what looks lika a Commander upper and a Officer's lower. What do you guys think?

Yup,
Had one (non S&W) and foolishly got rid of it, because it felt "whippier" than a light weight Commander when fired. The O length grip, with the Comm upper, means that unless someone (designer) decides to run a guide rod, they don't need to (easier press check & no tools). The 3" slide/barrel (by anybody) have the dual spring guide rods. Difference's usually are the style of guide rod retention system used on the 3".
FWIW, the Comm length slide with the O frame, "carries" a lot better than the 3 inch with the O length frame. JOMO?
(Edit)
Sorry? I just can't contain myself in the case of these theoretically "carry guns". If a 1911' ever screamed out for an arched, grooved main spring housing, it's these! Returning you to your regularly scheduled programming...

Alloy does NOT mean Scandium for S&W. Example, the 3 1/4" 945 that's out right now. 8 rounds? I think not in that frame.

I agreed with Spotteddog.

I bougth a Colt CCO which is a Commander slide on a LWT Officers frame and noticed with some Gold Dot 230 HP and standard ball, the CCO is a "jumper". I guess "whippier" is a better word.

I have not strapped it on yet as my last phase of completion (a front night sight) still needs to happen.

I dont plan to sell, but my all STS Colt Officers ACP does not "whip" as hard.

Must be the combination of the lighter weight frame, increase velocity of the slug due to the longer barrel and increase mass of the retracting slide.

the gun is not uncontrollable. At first I thought I was a wus, but spotteddog's post confirmed I am not.

I saw the pic of what appears to be a SW Commander length slide and compact (officers) frame. it appears to have a true commander bushing a standard GI plug (yeay).

That is so not true...

SW1911PD AND SW1911SC = SCANDIUM..This is SW1911 Pro and is regular Aluminum alloy..Also, other thread refers to 3 1/2" Officers Model and this is a 3" Model..I was only reporting on the 3' gun in my posted link to Valor...

bigt5150, if it has night sights, that's my dream gun, right down to the stainless upper. I'll put my own arched MSH and recoil parts on it if I need to. I've done it before;

I'd buy one yesterday, put 500 rounds through it today, and start carrying it tonight.

If you can find a S&W alloy framed 1911 that isn't scandium, more power to you.

S&W's description of their 1911 lineup (copied from the "Pro");

YOU ARE CORRECT OF COURSE, I WAS REFERRING TO THE SPECIFIC GUN ( 3") WE WERE TALKING ABOUT
IT WAS A 7+1 OFFICERS SIZE THAT I SAW, NOT SURE WHO IS TALKING ABOUT 8 RNDS? AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT SMITH 1911'S NOT 945'S WHICH ARE NOT 1911'S AND NOT OFFERED IN SCANDIUM (I HAVE A 4"945 AND IT IS MY BEST "1911") AS POSTED ABOVE
SCANDIUM (ALLOY) IS USED ON SMITH 1911'S.
