Hello all. As stated in the title. I'm new here and new to S&W.
I've been a long time supporter of Ruger for 20 years. Recently became frustrated with lack of accessories for Ruger American 9. I carried the full and sub compact.
Sold them both and picked up a Glock 17 and a Glock 43.
I was very disappointed in the 43.
Sold it to a friend and while I was there. I was telling my friend of all the different sub compacts I tried out at range day. Hellcat, P365, XD-S, etc etc.
My friend handed me his Shield 1.0 I guess you'd call it with the extended mag. I shot this gun better than any other gun in it's class.
So I decided to purchase the Shield Plus. Big mistake for the moment because I always carry a spare mag. Looks like it'll be awhile for the 13rd to get in stock.
Very impressed with the Shield.
My oldest son recently picked up his first pistol. He chose the M&P 9.
We went and practiced, ran some drills. Sad to say he shot my Glock better than me and I shot his M&P 9 better than him. Would trade him in a heartbeat but he purchased the one with the safety and the way I position my thumbs I knocked the safety ON several times while shooting.
Glad to have found the forum. I have found alot of great posts here with a wealth of knowledge and info.
