New to me 28-2

good one

that one looks alright. You pay a little more sometimes a little less other times but there is no current production that even comes close. Mine are all exquisite shooters and get better with time. The 4'' sits well in the hand and has the best balance for my taste, maybe a regular use larger grip would be good too.

I have a 28 and a 28-2. They are both 4" revolvers like yours, but have been worn a lot more. I prefer the Magna grips which yours has, but added a period Tyler T Grip to mine. For me this is a great combination, and they are heavy enough to make shooting magnum loads pleasant.

Here's my 28-2, before I added the T Grip:

Congratulations on a wonderful gun that will never be made like this again.

Hi

Greetings from this one: A 151xxx, I think a 1971 ship year. What a shooter, like a laser with 158 gr Sierra JSP and 4.0 gr W231. I gave it as a birthday gift to her and took her shooting for the first time. Made up some 148 wc with 2.7 gr Bullseye. No recoil and she now loves going.

Maybe yes, maybe no! You have an icon there. Wish I had a nice 4".
Do own a 1960, 6" no dash. It was my 1st G.B. purchase, some years back. It has a cool / neat factor to it for me. Enjoy! Bob

If it's an N-frame...... IMHO the 3 1/2 inch barrel is overrated .......no matter which barrel you have it's a "big" gun.........no reason not to go with a 4 inch.

I've got a 4inch 28 and a 4 inch "shooter grade" (90%) LOL 27-2 1/2 ...... recessed but not pinned....................

Congratulations on your new 28-2!

Obviously you're okay with the purchase price .... nothing else matters.

You know, the older I get the less I about care how much I paid so long as it's something I really wanted and could afford it!

Thanks... I don't have a picture of it with the Tyler T Grip on it, but I just snapped a quick iPhone pic of my other Highway Patrolman, a 28 no dash shipped in October of 1960, wearing a T Grip. I think that the Magnas and a T Grip give the best fit for my hands:
