Just found this 3914 with 5 magazines for $350. It is not an LEO turn in and was owned by a staff member at a local gun shop. Doesn't seem to be a mark on it. Believe two of the mags (the black ones) may be ProMag, but I am not sure. Real happy that two of the S&W mags are the flat bottom TSW type.

This gun will go well with my 3913 that is now my EDC.

Good Luck With The Handgun

For any form of defense, use the original S&W magazines. When in doubt, use other magazines for informal range practice until you're certain they function 100 percent.

I would also suggest buying new magazine springs from Woolf Springs. They are inexpensive and the double stack magazine springs are rather easy to install.

Nice gun! Bubba, ya done good! :D
I carried one of those for a year or two some years ago. I'd buy another if I ran across a deal like you got.
I have never liked bobbed hammers. I discovered that a 5906 hammer fits perfectly. ;)

Almost think I like the 3914 better than my 3913.

Got to get to the range with this "new" gun.

Every time I look at these third gen. pistols, I can not believe S&W stopped making them. Of course if they still made them or came out in the "clasic" series with them, they would be $1,000 guns. Oh well.

This thread reminds me of a related 3913 question. I have a 1994 vintage 3913 that Smith advised me came from the factory without a magazine disconnect. The right side of the slide is imprinted with the language "CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED". Looks like silk-screening rather than a roll mark. It has black hammer and trigger. I am wondering how unusual this configuration might be. I have benefited a great deal from the wisdom I have found on this forum, but I do not recall seeing much on this questions. Thanks very much for whatever you can share.

Nice. Great price.

I paid twice the amount for this 3913 a few years back. But that's CA prices which are higher because we can't mail order. I have to wait for a local person to put a gun up for consignment sale at a LGS.

Totally reliable so far.

squidsix I could not agree more! If they were still being made, I could sell every example I could get my hands on.

Perfect size, perfect weight, accurate and reliable as death and taxes. Great pistols. Regards 18DAI
