This is my new boomstick. 3" of .44 magnum goodness. 629-2 1 according to the smith book and serial number, this is one of only 3200 made. Changed the grips to X frame houges from smith&wesson. They make a huge difference. Shooting .44 out of this snub is easily controlled. Changed some springs and polished up the action. The trigger is sweet now! She' very accurate for a 3" .44mag. She is now my perfect woods/camp gun. Soon she will be sitting comfortably in a LoboGunLeather holster. Anyway just wanted to share. Thanks!

The day I bought her...

Man Sarge....that's a dynamite looking snub-nose!! Superb! Congratulations!! Nice photos too. Love that un-flutted cylinder too.

I bet that little mule will kick up some rocks for you, if the blast doesn't do it first :D . Enjoy and let us know after you take it to the range how she shoots.

The good news...... those x frame rubber grips undoubtedly help with the handling when using stout magnum loads. The bad news.....they negate the concealability and convenience of the primary reason for a short barrel magnum.

If you decide to retain the x frame grips, I will be pleased to buy the 'as purchased' combat grips that originally came with the gun. Please provide a price if you decide to let them go.

Very nice acquisition. Clearly a keeper.

The rubber grips are more practical; I sure, but those combat wood grips look so nice on that revolver.

I have never seen a 3" 629 with the unfluted cylinder. Excellent pics, by the way. It sure is a nice looking revolver!

Nice 629. Good idea on the grip swap for shooting. Them combats are pretty but tear my hands up. I'd hold onto em as they sell for big money.

Here's my 1 of 135 Lew Horton 629's. I use a Hogue monogrip for shooting it. Not as pretty but it beats a bloody hand.

Congrats!
