I picked up my 640-1 this morning. Man am I glad I bought this gun. It has the best trigger of any J frame I have ever handled. Balanced just right. IT's going to be my new CC piece. I am thinking or ordering a sideguard tuck clip Holster. Anyone ever used the sideguard to carry a J frame? I have a set of Ahrends combats waiting on it at home. Going to get rid of the Houges. I will get some pics up tonight.

I use a Galco pocket holster for my 640-1.

I had some Ahrends Tacticals on mine and then some nice wooden Hogues, but the recoil would turn the gun in my hand -- so I went back to the full size Uncle Mike's that came with it. It's a bit harden to conceal, but I can shoot a quarter at 7 yards.

I have a 640 Pro and I ordered a speed scabbard from S & W, which is really a Galco holster with a S & W logo. It does cover the slightly longer barrel (2-1/8") nicely. If yours is 1-7/8" then a standard Galco would work well.

It rides high, carries close to the body, presents very quickly and is very comfortable. I recommend it.

I use a Sparks VMII in the summer and a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake in the winter.

Gun has Spegel boot grips.
