I bought a new 629 Mountain Gun and told myself that I wasn't going to get a 686 Mountain Gun. But, I spied one for sale and bought it. I won't have it until next week.

Picture is from the reseller. I got to see it before I bought it.

The walnut grips look dry. Is there an oil or something that would pretty them up and not hurt the value of the gun?

It'll either be tung oil or boiled linseed oil. I heard Bobby Tyler mention it on one of the podcasts for the new mountain guns, but I can't remember which type they use. Both BLO and tung oil are commonly used for walnut stocks, so you can't go wrong with either.
Thank you. I ordered some of each. I haven't heard back from TGW, yet.

TGW sent the attached photo. This is what they recommend for walnut bear hug grips.

The 686 version is my grail Mountain Gun, the .357 being my personal favorite caliber in general. Haven't seen one in ages, always hope to find one in person someday. :)

I had one of the originals and had to sell it in a moment of fiscal stress. A really nice platform. I am unlikely to buy on of the news ones, even though they seem great as I already have an M66 and just retired so the money I have goes to different priorities.
