Hi everyone, new member here. This place keeps popping up when I google S&W questions so figured it was time to make an account.

I have been looking for a 952 for months now. I actually wanted a P210, but California gun laws make it difficult to purchase anything interesting, so I started searching for alternatives and learned about the 952. They are also difficult to find for sale in California, as you'd imagine, and I have only found two available in my months of searching.

One was the ultra rare two tone 6" -2 that you may have seen for sale on Gunbroker a few months ago. I bid that up well beyond my comfort zone and still lost. If the buyer of that gun was a California resident, they'd have paid nearly $5000 after sales and excise taxes.

Then about a month ago, a mint condition 5" -1 with the aluminum case, 3 mags, and no billboards popped up on a local forum. I was lucky enough to catch the ad within half an hour of its posting and had to do the right thing.

Initially I was very impressed with the build quality. I'm used to "mid tier" guns, for lack of a better word -- CZ 75, Beretta 92, Springfield 1911, that sort of thing. The overall feeling of quality in the 952 is on a different level. You can feel the difference just by holding it, but once you start pulling the slide back or pulling the trigger, you realize the quality goes deeper than surface level.

It now has about 350 rounds through it and what a delight it's been. Trigger breaks right around 2.5 lbs in a crisp manner and it lives up to its reputation for accuracy. At 40.6 ounces unloaded, this is the heaviest 9mm I've ever shot and it really shows that in the recoil impulse. It almost feels as if the gun is staying still and the slide is just going back and forth.

I always told myself that if I got a P210 that I would sell the 952. I finally found a P210 and am not so sure anymore. Why not have both?

Haven't had the chance to shoot both side by side yet but I will be later this week. Thinking I might need to make a comparison video for YouTube since it's pretty uncommon to have both in the same place.

Beautiful pistols! That’s two great scores there. I’d definitely watch the video if you make it. We need more vids on these kind of guns. Search YouTube for any of the PC pistols and it leaves a lot to be desired.

I have both in my safe however my P210 is the “A” so neither as cool nor exclusive as yours.

It’s a shame that your location will definitely make it more difficult to chase down more elite PC Limited pistols.

Nice, I am not a 9mm fan but if I was going to buy one a 952 would probably fill my needs.

Both are beautiful handguns, I would be keeping both! Oh, another thing, I absolutely love 9mm pistols. One of my favorites is my Kimber Stainless Target II 1911 pistol in that cartridge.

I have a 210 Target , and it's a pleasure to shoot . I don't have a 952 , but I do have a 5 & 6in Target Champion . I would really like to see a side by side comparison between a 952 and a Target Champion . I would put my money on the TC , but who knows .......

In my experience, the 9M is a very accurate cartridge.

That was a great move of S+W to chamber the 52 for the 9M.

I own and shoot several 952s. Love them. Bought a P210 and thought damn, this almost as good as my 952s for half the price. There is a good reason to own both.
