Hey, all. Been awhile. Took a chance on a Model 24-3, 61/2" blue, s/n ABZ 19XX, TT, TH, TG. Non pinned, non recessed, Patridge front. This is a very nice revolver. Obviously shot just enough for a previous owner to realize it's not a 44 mag, and a 44 mag is cheaper to shoot!
This one will be babied in the field, the same as I pamper my 45 Colt and 45 ACP Smith revolvers.
When the bank account recovers, I'll start looking to fill a couple holes in my N frame shooter lineup, a Model 57, and a nice 29-2, if there's still any out there that aint been beat to hell.
Oh, got this at a local online auction, bid $750, and it surprised me that I got it. Course, by the time the auction house invented some mysterious "charges", and the Governor got 6%, it was a bit more. Good thing Ive been feeding my other 44 mags handloaded 44 Specials for decades!
Take er easy!

I won my auction on the exact same thing on Saturday April 12! Got it for $675
plus the auction charge, NICS check and NYS tax. $828.96 all together. It's a dash 6. No Target stocks though just the Magna grips that I took off after 10 shots. Put 100 rounds through it when I picked it up on Monday. Goes really well with my M-29-2's and 629.

Indeed! I am a huge fan of the .44 Special; I had (lost it in a wildfire) a Triple Lock, nickel, ivory grips (moan) that was a good shooter as well; I'm down to a Model of 1950 "pre-Model 24" with a 5" barrel, a 624 (Lew Horton Special) with a 3" barrel, and a Ruger Single Action in .44 Special. Great shooters, all. As an old man (83) with small hands, .44 Magnums aren't much fun for me anymore!

I looked for a 24 for a while. Wanted a .44 and couldn't find 1. So, opted for a 29-3 44 magnum. Can shoot either in it. Bob

OK, you're forcing me to post this yet again - LOL.

Yeah, you could say that I've kinda got a thing for the .44 Spl.

Adios,

Pizza Bob
