New to me Model 34-1 Date of Manufacture

Just picked up a Smith 34-1, ser no 942XX, no prefix. Has diamond grips, pinned barrel, funny looking latch, very good condition and grip is stamped with ser no. I would like to know approximate year of manufacture/shipping (I know it will not be exact). I bought it without research cause it was $400 dollars out the door and I feel sure that is a good price.

I suspect it is from around 1962 or so, based on the serial number. The Model 34-1 came into being in 1960 at around serial number 70,000.

The flat thumb piece lasted until 1966.

The .22/32 Kit Guns are wonderful, whether with the 2" barrel or the 4" (like yours).
