New to me - Rare Taurus model 90 - 6 shoot .22 LR 4"

I bought this Taurus .22 lr revolver, but I don't know model. Maybe it's 96 4"?
Size is about same than S&W K-frame and it's 6 shots.

Hhis is Taurus brochure 1990's

I have had model 941 eight shots .22 WMR. It was same size that S&W J-frame. Model 94 is same but .22 LR and nine shots.
This is same size that S&W K-frame.

The one here was a replacement direct from Taurus for a PT22 that KB. Customer service was far better than the performance of both PT22 that went KB.

Looks like an early, 1st or 2nd year, model 94…they were six shot. The one I had didn’t have a model number stamped anywhere on it.

I know model 94 / 941, it's like J.frame size.
This is K-frame size, like model 96 but this is 4"

I'm just taking a guess here, but your revolver looks for all the world to be a model 96 that was cut to a 4-inch barrel length, and rather expertly at that.
Although it does look utterly factory-done.
Either way, it's an interesting piece!
It's a gun that Taurus should have made, IMO (and maybe they did!).
My 96 is my only Taurus, and although not a Smith & Wesson, it tries really hard and succeeds fairly well at that.
It seems to be the one Taurus firearm that one never hears a complaint about.

This Taurus Model 90 is the Third Variant
First Variant was made up to 1982. Weight: 985 grams.
Second Variant: heavier barrel, 1982-1988. Weight: 1085 grams.
Third Variant: 1988- 1996 Weight: 1130 grams.

This Taurus cylinders is close to S&W L-frame dimensions.
Is the Model 96 a cylinder of the same size or is all Taurus "K-frame" cylinders thicker than S&W K-frame cylinders?
