You got it right precisely! Sorry but if the civilians have to live with it so does the government. Cuomo runs around screaming "no body needs 10 rounds to shoot a deer. " Exactly, we Need ten to shoot bad guys unless there are 11 bad guys. I spent twenty years with a six shot revolver, had five gun fights and survived. Sorry so can you... But today, since semi automatics are so reliable, I' ll take the biggest gun I can, with the most rounds. What makes cops lives more valuable than my kids or the life of my wife.
Besides if the threat hardly ever comes you made an argument for less cops.
I spent 20 some years with only 18 rounds on my person, a revolver and two drop boxes or speed loaders too, the last ten its been a hi cap semi-auto, but what you or I did 20 years ago is completely irrelevant with regard to the present situation, it is just an example of experiential superiority.
Just to be clear, I disagree with any restriction on ammo capacity for ANYONE. In the interim, "citizens" can pick up a phone, press three digits and have the police handle their problems for then, no matter what the threat, so statistically speaking they are at an exponentially greater risk.
Your statement that I made an argument for fewer cops is a reach at best, and I will respectfully agree to disagree ; however, if this out of control government would focus on the problem, bad people, we would need fewer cops, more jail guards maybe, but fewer cops.
Some people are bad, some people use guns to do bad things, but then they use knives, fists, baseball bats, ropes, duct tape, cars, hammers....the list is endless.....are we going o restrict those too, or are we going to wake up from his 60s, everyone is good love fest and deal with our trouble makers?
Anyway, no, the cops are not more "valuable" than your wife and kids, but when your family starts responding to 911 calls your point of view will have a bit more credibility.
