Hello everyone my name is Will and I'm from Ky. Come across the forums while I was researching the M&P. I'm going to purchase a M&P in the next couple of weeks, and I'm trying to find out what caliber would be best for me. I'm new to the handgun scene as I only have a high point .45 that was a freebie for home protection. But I do own shotguns and rifles so I'm not new to guns. So if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears good or bad. I'm also going to try and take the CCW class here locally this weekend so my M&P would be the gun I would carry.

Will, welcome from North Carolina. I've been carrying the M&P .40 for several years. It has never had any problems.

Actually the .40 compact is what I had my eye on, but a coworker has me thinking about a .45 now. But Whittakers a local gun shop has some nice deals on the 9mm lol. Decisions decisions.......

Welcome to the forum and greetings from Northwest Georgia! :) I love my M&P 9c, but normally carry one of my 1911's in .45. It's a bigger bullet, but there are less of them.

Welcome from Texas Will. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

I carry the M&P 45 ACP (July of 2008) and love it.
