Hello all,
I am new to the S&W forum but I have been listing my collection over the past week or so for show and tell..... This is my/my wife's Mod 37 Airweight. My best friend and fellow lover of South Africa showed up one evening, handed it to me and said Merry Christmas. Several months later, the wife and I ran across these grips and all of a sudden it was her Mod 37 ????. Anyway I am sure some of you have been there and done that!!!! This 37 was purchased by my friend in the mid 90's and was brand new in the box when it came in the door. It is another one of those items that will be with us both til we head home. Our friend Dave passed away 4 years ago and this S&W along with our trip together to South Africa will be a constant reminder of what a class act he really was. Here are a few pictures of the M37-3 hope you enjoy them. Take care, Semper Fi, and God bless...cordell P.S. Dave carried the earlier version of this revolver everywhere he went. cordell

First, welcome to the forum.

Second, that's a classy M37. I especially like the "old-school" Hunter holster. Is that an 1100?

Third, I can definitely empathize with you. My fiancee laid claim to my Colt DS and will (grudgingly) let me handle it on occasion. Can't fault her for her good taste, though. :D

Welcome and don't ever part w/that 37, they don't make 'em like that anymore.

I like the old-school Hunter holster also. Is Hunter still in the leather holster business? Used to be that you'd see them for sale in most larger guns shops & in the catalogs, but nowadays it's all nylon or (even worse) kydex. Ugh.
Not too many open-carry type holsters marketed these days for smaller revolvers.

Hello all,
CoMF, Thank you for the warm welcome, and the compliment on the M-37. The holster is an older S&W 20-62 that I have had for years, the "Big Boss" liberated it from my Mod 60............. Regarding holsters I agree with you whole heartedly, leather is and will continue to be my favorite!!!! As far as the ongoing saga of confiscated guns go this is the 3rd over the past 46 years. The first was a High Standard HD she fell in love with about 40 years ago. The next was a Kel-Tec .32 that she confiscated 5 years ago for her purse, and then the M37......Not a greedy girl after all ;-)!!!!!! Take care and God bless you and yours...cordell

Leo, It is indeed a nice weapon and nice to handle, thanks for your service, and welcome to the land of the overworked!!!!!!......TC&GB...cordell

gwalchmai, Thank you.....TC&GB..cordell

hotrod150, I agree Hunter did and does, make some nice holsters! TC&GB...cordell

I followed the Hunter holsters link. Looks like they have leather for the Taurus Judge, Contenders, Ruger Alaskans, and big S&W's. But nothing model-specific for our little j-frames. Too bad.

Don't despair. The one we both have in mind is listed in their Holster Size Chart as style no. 1100 6. Midway sells them for $34.

cordell,

Thank you for the reply, and yes, that is indeed a S&W holster. I forgot that Hunter copied that design for their 1100 series. :o
