Just picked this up today. Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer. This is an early one with the rounded hammer. Later ones have a spur hammer. Seems to be complete and functional, I will find out more tomorrow at the range.

Strangely the magazine has a patent date of Sept 9 1894 on the base plate which I would have though was significantly older than the design. Shows you what I know.

Snagged this for $550 with factory original magazine which, IMHO, was a pretty good deal. I even got a pretty clean nickel plated barrel and links for it for a tad over $100 off of EBAY. All things considered, no complaints.

I have a spurred hammer 1903. Shoots well at close range. Sometimes carry it is a leather case. No one questions me about it,

Be sure to shoot .38 ACP only in it. The gun will chamber .38 Superm but do not use it!! To hot!

RANGE REPORT. I took it down to the range today and put a box of rounds out of it. Accuracy was decent, 6" group at 7 yards, mostly a bit low and left. Not too bad for indoor range with indifferent lighting, minimalist sights and my old eyes. Did have function issues, a lot of failures to eject cleanly. My guess is that I have to regulate my load a bit better for this particular gun. It shot well in my 1902 Military. At any rate I am a happy camper.
