I plan on buying another gun within the next couple weeks. I kinda want another SW9VE(I have one already) I would trY to find the Allied Forces model(but would settle for a standard 2-tone). OR Should I buy an SD9? How similar is the SD9 and the Sigma internally? I like to be able to detail strip every firearm I own. I played with one at the gunstore over the weekend, and I really liked it. Locally the price difference between the 2 isn't much. What do you think?

It depends on what you want the 2nd gun for!
There are many here who have two or more Sigmas!

The SD guns are nice! I like them!
It is quite a bit differebt from the Sigma! IMHO!
Many say it is a Sigma in a different skin!
From all the info I have read & the 2 or 3 times I handled one I feel they are different.

BONUS: The Sigma mags will work in the SD!!

I didn't vote just yet, I'm still pondering.

There is always something to be said for having 2 of the same gun.

On the other hand, the SD with lighter trigger may be a better gun for shooting good targets, if that's what you're using it for. I haven't shot one yet. Variety can be a good thing too.

On paper, I suppose the SD is a better gun, but the sigma has proven itself as a reliable workhorse (that's a big plus). Never a failure of any kind on mine.

Win-win either way!

I had a Sigma40ve,i traded it for an SD40 the SD is a much better gun in my opinion.

If you want a new gun right now, get the SD.

If you would like a new gun, but there is no hurry, track down the Allied Forces model that you want, and don't 'settle' for anything else.

Sometimes it's the journey, not the destination.

Only reason I voted SD is because most people charge a premium for the Allied Forces. If you want an all black gun get the SD and you get the bonus of metal M&P sights and a front night sight. Oh and no ice scraper magazine base. The trigger is much nicer as well. They break down the same and the only noticeable difference is the sear assembly, which you do not remove to clean. If the price difference is less than $75 I go for the SD. If it is more and you can get a SW9ve for less than $320 OTD then get that one. They will "feel" the same in your hand and recoil is the same.

I voted SD! it's a great gun at a value price. The steel sights and better trigger make it worth the extra money over the Sigma.

Next weekend, I will go to the gunstore and handle another SD9. I am pretty sure I will go with the SD9. Thanks for the response.
