Went today for my weekly shoot. Still having minor FTF issues with a couple firearms. Seems that the mag spring is too strong to allow for a full load. Leaving out one round seems to solve the problem but I'm hoping that over time things will break in.
Now for the fun part. The indoor range I go to has 8 lanes for members and 8 for the public. You can shoot any handgun but only 22LR rifles. It's almost like shooting in your basement.
As I signed in two young men in fatigues were already on their way inside. I try to give people space so I took a lane at the oposite end. I started out with my PMR30. It's loud and spits brass all over. As I started to load a second mag I saw a shadow behind me. It was one of the soldiers. He was looking to see what I was shooting. When the noise is loud and you're able to keep shooting without reloading for a while it tends to draw the attention of others.
I explained to him what I was shooting and offered to let him shoot it. He was like a young boy getting a Daisy rifle for Xmas. He shot half the mag and went back to his lane. A minute later both of them showed up. I let the other soldier shoot my gun and the grins were ear to ear.
A little while later I went over to their lane to see what they were shooting. They had a SIG 45acp, a Springfield 45acp and a Henry 22lr rifle. I got to shoot the handguns and went back to my lane.
Before leaving I went over to thank them for sharing but also to thank them for their service to our Country. I didn't ask their names and probably will never see them again but it turned out to be the best day of my life.
