The wife decided to take me out to lunch at Chili's today. We were greeted by a nice greeter guy and his first question was if either of us was a veteran. I told him I was in the Air Force so he gave me a free meal paper. We sat down and the waitress came over, saw the vets paper, and thanked me for my service. My wife and I were happily surprised by this special gesture of the Chili's chain of restaurants, and the staff at this particular restaurant. We had no idea this free meal deal was going on and they enthusiastically offered it up as soon as we were greeted at the door. So, this public thank you to Chili's!!!!

I know the Darden restaurants, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Longhorn are offering free meals to vets. Lots of other ones too.
Last year Missus P&R Fan and I went to Olive Garden. She's an Army vet. She ate free, and after the meal the manager came up and asked us if we were vets. I said she was. She shook her hand, thanked her for her service and gave her a $10 gift card.
Makes me want to go back.
