Colleagues,

I would appreciate recommendations from members of the group regarding night sights for a model 625-8. This is my home defense gun, and the factory sights are black - making them virtually useless at night.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I just picked up recently a 625-4 3 inch with Metropole (sp?) Nite sights and while they work fine for nite sights ( easily seen in a dark room) the gun hits about 15 inches high @ 25yds Not sure what I'm going to do about that yet. Under 10yds ( or less) it really wouldn't be that big of a problem..

There are gunsmiths who specialize in replacing factory sights with night sights or other sights. The name that leaps to mind is Hamilton Bowen. Beware, his services don't come cheap or instantly. Be prepared for a several month wait. But, if it's night sights you're a wantin' he's the guy to install them for you.

Trijicon uses a company called ToolTech. If you search around on the Trijicon website they give the web address:

I am sure that off the shelf versions exist. Go talk to your local gunsmith or gun shop if your google fu is weak. If your front sight is pin on (not interchangeable) I know XS makes a standard dot that will fit (they are on the night guards and on my 386 Mountain Lite). I am not sure about the interchangeable sights, if someone can clue me in I would be quite happy :)

You can go the less expensive route too. Nitesiters. Just put them on my 627-5 and so far so good. Not as nice as true NS but for $12, you cant beat'em. I use my stinger light to charge them for couple minutes before bed and they last all night.
