Does anyone have any strong opinions or justifications why Meprolights are better than Trijicon night sights, or vice-versa?

Any other brands that I'm not thinking of?

I have a set of trilijons on my 3" 66-3. They are about wore out. Dont know anything about memprolights. Basicly, they make a lot of sense to me. I worked graveyard about 32 years of 35. (A record?) I belive it likely most shootings are at night. Seems they should be more popular when you look at the stats.

I've got both types on several different bangers. I've never noticed a dimes worth of difference between the two. I did, however, try the Meprolite's on one of my 1911s with two yellow and one green dot, thinking the contrast would be helpful. I did not care for it and have not done it since.

Same here. Owned both and no difference. I do like Tru Glo TFO sights though.

I think, though I'm not sure if there is a difference now, that one of them had painted on white rings around the tritium dials and the other had a white plastic tube around the tritium dials. So the painted one could wear off over time.

Very happy with my Trijicons on two duty Glocks.

P.S. Is the front site ramp with Tritium Dot Night Sight, such as comes standard on the 586 L Comp, available for purchase for my Performance Center 627 (2.625” barrel)? How can I get night sites, or at least the front site, on my 627 revolver?

To me, Meprolights dots are bigger/brighter at night and their large, white rings have a better day sight pistol. The white rings do not come off. I have used Meprolights for many years in actual duty use with never a problem. They are not effected by gun solvents/oils. I use Weapon Shield CLP to clean them with no ill effect. Not so with other brands. Bill

I've seen those you mentioned, and have some on my firearms. But ultimately, the TruGlo TFO I have are far brighter for my eyes. Granted in pitch darkness, they fall behind the others.

I bought a set of Mepro's for my HK P7M10 back in the early 90's I liked them as well as I like the Trijicon's that are now on both of my M&P's.

I've had Mepro's that I liked just fine, but I think all the "dots" were the same size.

Trijicon makes the front sight slightly larger, so that they all appear the same size when the sights are aligned. A nice touch in my opinion.

Trijicon will also re-lamp old sights if you send your slide. I don't know if Mepro will.
