No more Ticks. Population of ticks down.

I haven’t seen a raisinet (tick) on the floor in the house all summer.

Let’s predict nine chicks per brood that’s 27 chicks, 13.5 hens, 13.5 drakes that’s 13.5 Times nine chicks each? I have a turkey farm...

I did lose one chick to a predator...

I enjoy my breakfast, lunch, dinner watching wild turkeys.

Did ticks affect..

Did ticks affect the turkey population? They are very nasty critters. It's funny how some species almost die out while something like tick are epidemic. I saw a video the other day where a ladybug/ladybird explosion turned a forest and everything around it RED. Shoulder to shoulder ladybugs.

There have always been population booms and busts, but with the weird climate change, it seems to be happening constantly.

If you want to save the ticks, you have to stop the turkeys from eating them.

We always kept chickens in the yard in SW Missouri - that kept the ticks out, but did nothing for the chiggers. My home has been New Mexico for 39 years now and I've yet to have a chigger or tick bite, nor poison ivy or sumac either. Or tornados.

We need PETA to sponsor a Tick Aid concert or maybe a go fund me page.:D

Actually Hugh Hefner's widow, Crystal, has Lyme disease.

I don't know if she got it lying around on the lawn at the Mansion, or where. Terrible affliction, tick-borne.

I hate ticks! If turkeys eat them, more the better!

I expected the worst tick infestation the past year like they predicted on the news. I got nothing at all. But with all the wild eating the cracked corn and eating what ever is in the grass the ticks are losing.

They say ticks start on mice. I purchased those tick killers that are stuffed bones with cotton that kill ticks that the mice build there nests with. But I’m afraid to throw them around the place. They say it won’t hurt anything else? I’m thinking put them 100yds away from the house.

I hope everyone takes the dangers posed by tick borne bacteria seriously.
I never thought it (lyme, erlichia} would happen to me, but it did.
Mine was pretty bad, still is. So much for my golden years.
One day strong and healthy, the next, down and paralyzed from the neck down. Almost killed me. Suffered amputations but talked them out of amputating both arms. Only thing good has been my strong desire to get as much of my life back as I can and with some success.
I hope you dont have to go through this, hence my warning about tick bites.

Thank god your ok.

I heard that pine soap is good to wash with. The cedarcide is good to spray on your pant legs. One of my cats didn’t like it.

There was three broods here today. I think there’s more there just fooling me. There getting big.

I think turkeys like everything else has an acid in the stomach that breaks down what they eat. I don’t think the ticks will harm them. I don’t see a change in the numbers of checks yet. Each brood was nine chicks. I think one was lost to a predator.
