The Governor, much like the Judge, has only a passive interest factor to me. But I keep looking at the Governor and thinking the same thing...

Dump the .410 option and make it a .45 Colt/.45 Auto (ACP+GAP) and that would be one interesting big bore belly special... Besides the fact that it would look better, it would be utilitarian to an extreme. Maybe even offer it in a 3" and 4" model. Anyone with me on this one?

The ability to shoot .45 Colt in addition to .45 ACP and the fixt rear sight to include the current Gov model costs far less.

I don't think I'll EVER own a charter arms gun, and if I did, it would be because someone gave it to me :D

...but that being said, has anyone seen their new "moonless" .40sw revolver? It's the world's first production revolver that shoots auto-ammo without moon clips! now, if Smith & Wesson could do such a thing with .45LC, .45acp .45gap and for hoots why not .45 win-mag, how cool would THAT be

Not sure how monster the cylinder would have to be for the Win Mag but I like where you are thinking... Might have to go back to a five shotty for the mag though.

But... Not to be picky but to defend Smith since I recently did some venting... The S&W 547 was a 9mm that needed no moon clips. They are fairly collectable and can go for some medium prices. I think they did them in 3" and 4". But (again), that Charter will come a lot cheaper. Taurus might be onto something with their moon clip ready revolver for .40SW too and it's much smaller than the 310/610 models.
