I installed the new jp spring kit and loved the way it felt until the 7 round. No bang. ok, eject the round, 5 more rounds same thing again. That was with the factory mag, same federal ammo, and a clean rifle. The pattern continued so much i stopped shooting.

Did i miss something while installing the new springs?

Happy New Year

I also have a MOE that I put the JP spring kit in and have had one FTfire on some fed. bulk that did fire when rotated 90 deg in the chamber.

I don't think you can install the springs backwards. Try some different ammo before you do much else if you can.

You don't get a lighter trigger pull for nothing, especially when you do one of these cheap "bolt on" trigger jobs. First, look at some tutorials and make sure you installed the springs correctly. If you did, reinstall your original springs to fix your problem.

I did one of the "cheap bolt on" trigger jobs with the JP springs & haven't had the first problem with FTF's. You won't get the 3.5# pull with the stock trigger & hammer. I think JP says about 4.5# with stock parts. That's been well over 1000 rds ago. I also put the JP springs in my 15T w/o any issues. If the trigger looks OK after checking it out, I would try some different ammo just to rule out that possibility.

"Cheap Bolt On Trigger Job" per Beltfed instructions. So far working like a champ !!!

Or spend a few more dollars and get a real trigger job that uses the stock springs. Then don't worry about it. Bill Springfield can rework your trigger for a reasonable price. Been running one on my M&P15 and couldn't be any happier with it. Just send him your fire control group and he'll send it back. 2.5, 3, or 4 pounds can be had.

Put the yellow spring on the trigger only. Keep the original spring on the hammer to make sure the hammerhits with the same force. Try that if you want to use the spring kit.

I am using the JP Reliability Enhanced Spring Kit purchased from JP Rifles direct. The kit uses the yellow trigger spring and a red hammer spring. The kit was recommended by JP Rifles tech support to reduce the chance of light hits. Using CCI Mini-mags, no FTF's, lighter trigger pull than stock springs.

I'll put the blue hammer spring back then update tomorrow.

This may sound like a stupid question but I've fix rifles that people were having the same problem as you and all it need was the spring legs were not on the trigger pin and that was causing the hammer to have almost no power at all.. make sure the legs of your hammer spring are both bent around on top of the trigger spring

AR15 hammer spring legs both rest on top of the trigger pin. One fits in a groove to retain the trigger pin.

I installed everything as per your youtube video. did it twice just to make sure it was done right the first time.

They are in the correct spot. The hammer strike does "sound" weak compared to before

I'm guessing you have a problem somewhere other than the spring kit.. I've got the 3.5 kit myself and I bent the legs another 30* to further weaken them and I've never had a fail to fire other than a completely dead rd.. but just for the sake of argueing reinstall the factory hammer and bend the legs 30* that will lighten the trigger alittle but still have 80% of its power

You can bend the legs of the springs to fine-tune the force. I had some light primer strikes so I bent the spring legs to push the hammer harder and fixed the problem. Many, many rounds and it's still reliable and I know it's as light of a pull as I can have.

With the factory hammer spring back not one problem. I'll try the bent spring mod on both and see what happens

Good to hear. It's the trigger that you want lighter and thats what you now have with your setup.
