I have a home built 1911 9mm, (Kart NM barrel, novak sights, Colt lower, Essex upper) which functions just OK with an occasional hangup with 115 reloaded jacketed bullets. I decided to switch to Missouri Bullet Company RN and TCN cast bullets for economy, and the real troubles began. Couldn't get thru a magazine w/o several jams. I was using standard Metalform 9 shot mags.
Decided to try the Springfield front ramp 9mm mags, which are also made by Metalform, and I am pleased to report that I just fired 200 rounds of both cast bullet loads thru the gun, with NO issues. I believe I will order another !

Just wanted to pass this along, if you are having problems, this magazine would be a good place to start. I purchased mine from Brownells ( stock # 620-000-007AC ), but I am sure Midway keeps them also.

Front ramp 9MM mags

My 38 Super/9X23, Springfield with 9mm barrel, loves the ramped Metalform magazines :)

The front ramp magazines seem to almost be a well kept secret. I think most shooters, who have even heard of them, don't realize how different they are. I have used nothing else in my 9MM type 1911s for several years. Since I began using the front ramp magazines, I have not had a malfunction with any ammo I've used in three different 1911 type 9MMs. Wish they'd been available years ago when I was trying to get a new Colt 9MM Conversion kit to function reliably with anything other than ball ammo.

And bye the way, years ago, I had a Metalform .45 magazine come apart. I don't know where I bought, if I bought it new or used or how old it was. I told Metalform this when I sent it to them. They replaced it immediately, No questions asked. That is the only Metalform magazine I've ever had a problem with.
