Is it possible to try to "boycott" California? Don't buy any products or purchase products made in or from that place. No business dealings of any kind.

What is the definition of "is"? I can see where they are going with this. They are saying he picked this gun up while it was wrapped up, apparently not knowing what it was and it had a light trigger and went off. The problem is no one witnessed any of it as near as I can tell so they are banking on the fact he picked "something" up thinking it was a coat and it wasn't. How could he be guilty of gun possession when he didn't know there was a gun in there? No one seems to have seen anything.

Sorry, folks. California will never secede. Certain people outside the state can't afford to lose those 55 Electoral votes. BTW. One of the accomplices to Kate Steinle's murder, Mayor Ed Lee, just died the other day.

This type of legal conundrum is a direct result of us the people electing lawyers to congress to make our laws. Now that we have the majority of our legal codes that better support more litigation thus more money for the lawyers rather than law & order, You are really surprised?

Ask yourself if there may be a relation between 'half the world's lawyers in the US' & the boondoggle of which we discuss!

There is no cause for outrage here. A motion for a new trial preserves the defendant's right to appeal and frames the case procedurally for the appeal. His lawyers, probably appointed counsel, have a duty to represent him "zealously". That includes taking the necessary steps to preserve his right to appeal.

The right to effective assistance of counsel is another right the Constitution affords to all defendants.

Its San Francisco. He will get a new trial. He will be acquitted. He will get $1,000,000 and an apology for all the trouble. Its called "Social Justice".
