Wife has had Boo our Golden Retreiver groomed at PetSmart for years. She's getting old (11 next month) (the wife is older) and in the summer we have her groomed to a #5 puppy cut to keep her cool. She has a heavy show coat with feathers.
I do her nail clipping (dog) and trimming the fur between the paw-pads monthly (dog again).
We have a strange ritual, as a flop eared dog she's prone to dirt and infection so I sniff her ears and let her sniff mine in return. I clean them Monthly.

Pick her up today after grooming, the Princess package, oatmeal bath, teeth cleaning, the works. $95.40.

At home I read the groomers report that her ears were cleaned and one was very red, meaning infection which, I can smell immediately. Not there.

I get the LED light and my up close reading goggles.
No redness, left ear is clean, right ear has gunk in the outer canal ports. I'll clean that tomorrow.

Tomorrow the manager of the store is gonna feel my wrath that they are inept and will never see a dime from me again.

Course the wife says to calm down, yeah right.

Rant off......

We had a similar experience with the same pet grooming chain with our Basset Hound. Gave them a second chance and got burned again.

Our pet grooming peso's go in another direction now.

No reason to let it go. Whomever was writing the notes probably mixed up the dogs. They should probably hear about it, because they may have sent another dog home with an ear infection - but gave that one a clean bill of health.

I really like Hy-Otic ear rinse for my dogs, on a monthly basis. It works great, and smells good, too.

Once, only a couple years ago, I had brought my Ford Fusion with a 5 speed manual transmission to a Ford Dealership for an oil change.

They told me they checked the automatic transmission fluid.

Judging from the high level of personal attention to which she has become accustomed at PetsMart, I think you should have a chat with Boo first, before you bless out the management at her salon.

She might put her paw down on that one....;)
