1) The link is to the official NRA website.
2) This is at least the third thread pointing out this offer.
3) Some people have already reported receiving their membership cards.

This is how scams operate. PayPal, eBay, banks etc... have all been taken by the same "look".

The OFFICIAL NRA web site has verification features. This linked site has NONE!!!

BEWARE!!!!! As President Reagan said, "Trust but Verify."

I sure do hope that this is a real offer from NRA. We need all gun owners in America to support the NRA.

If our elected officials believe that gun owners are a vocal voice, and are concerned about Congress upholding the Constitution, then we need as many voices as possible.

The NRA is giving FREE 1-yr memberships to everyone that wants to join. Please join and pass it around, they are trying to build up their membership to fight pending legislation that impacts our right to bear arms.

It is my understanding their intent is to be able to have the largest number of members so that Political members will pay more attention to them. It would be great if the NRA could officially say we have 10 million members!

I signed up yesterday. I was also leery of a scam, but on another thread people were getting legitimate responses from the NRA. I am waiting for my response from the NRA.

It's the real deal. The NRA sent me 10 cards to give to my non-NRA friends. The free membership card was attached, and all they had to do was to call the toll-free number to activate it. Of course, they'll want you to renew next year, but that's up to you. I've recruited 5 new members in just a month. Especially attractive is the American Rifle magazine free for a year. Go for it! There is strength in numbers.
