I finally received mine today, & I have to say I'm disappointed. I know one shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but I was expecting a Buck. A Chinese Buck, but still a Buck. I guess they must have run out of them, because instead I was sent a pseudo Swiss army knife with a million blades on it. I'm thinking its going back in the box & into a drawer...If they had told me they were out of the original offer I could have saved them the postage. Anybody want to trade?:D

Man... what really sucks is when you go to the NRA/ILA webpage where the offer is posted.. it says right there "Made in America by the Legendary Buck Knives company" and under the pic of the knife in bold red & blue letters " AMERICAN Made in the USA"

Now I'm all for a campaign raising funds for the NRA/ILA... but if they can't play it straight, and are sending out Chinese Buck knives or Buck is sending them out, and the NRA/ILA hasn't put a stop to it... then how can I trust or have faith that they are playing it legit with the millions of dollars in contributions they get annual through NRA members and programs like the "NRA round up?

Really disappointing NRA.

Mine is areal Buck as well and is a very good looking blade.Guess I got lucky-catalog number 7709.

Really disappointing NRA.

My only hope is the NRA has a different crew running the NRA store. Hopefully they suck at their job but their lawyers and lawmakers are more intelligent and skilled in doing their job.

Well, I tend to stay a bit pragmatic on this. The China Bucks are still putting money into Buck, and helping them to stay afloat in an extremely competitive product arena. Spyderco, and I believe Benchmade, also have Chinese, Taiwan, and Japan-built models, along with models still entirely made in USA.

Now, as to 'traditional' pocket knives, ala Grandpa's EDC, there are several companies making great USA-built product. Great Eastern (GEC), Queen(City), Canal-Street, Case, etc.

As to Swiss Army knives, I'm shocked that clones from Asia even exist when you can find genuines under $20-$30 or even less if used. Victorinox and Wenger folks, if it's not clear on the tang of the main blade, PASS IT UP.

I got a Chinese made NRA marked Stone River with wood handles. It'll do to gut a rabbit.

Yep...sent me the same thing. It was a pretty big let down from the Buck I was hoping to get. I mean, I can just go out & buy one, but it won't say NRA on it.

I received a postcard dated Feb 6, 2014 few weeks ago ( the second time I received one - I received one last fall / early winter) that says "we have a back order on your specially made NRA-ILA American Buck Odyssey Knife. Your delivery should arrive within the next 45 days" and apologizing for the delay. So hopefully eventually I will get the Buck; I already promised it to my daughter.

I got mine about a week ago. Totally useless to me but I have to admit I like it! I also got the key holder as well a few days prior.......strange. Why wouldn't they send the knife & key holder in the same package? Hey.....at least the key holder is genuine leather!

Last year, I sent in a donation to NRA-ILA and received a blaze orange BuckLite knife, the one with the plastic handles, which keeps down the weight. I just checked it and the blade is marked USA.

It is also sharp as heck. Don't ask me how I know that. :(

I got the cheap Swiss Army clone, too. It's now in the same drawer as the cheap knife they sent a couple of years ago. Oh well, maybe my grandson will enjoy them someday.
