Crazy prices on these NYPD guns nowadays.

. About 10 years ago, member Wheelgun28 and I walked into a living room filled with 60’s, 64’s, GPNY’s, SPNY’s.

I still have a few.

Crazy prices indeed!!! I wonder if the NYPD heritage is drawing the premium or just the fact that they are vintage S&W wheelguns. Maybe a little of both.

Everyday I haunt the local gun shops in search for a 65,66, 681 or 686. NOTHING but new examples on the shelf. The vintage stuff has gone unobtainable.

I've watched those two Model 60 NY-1s since the auctions opened.

Robert Rivas' article in the SCSW, 4th Ed., says there were 3,670 of them. Hardly RARE.

Absurd.

I just bought a regular plain jane M60 as new, no box or anything for $500. I figure I'm way ahead of the curve.
