NY Laws

Even if the lawsuits reverse the ridiculous law, the governor doesn't care. She knew the law would be challenged and likely overturned. She did it for the political points and will get even more political points if the law is overturned. She'll use that to paint gun owners as even more bloodthirsty. Then they'll do it all over again and fight the lawsuits with the bottomless state budget.

It's win-win for the governor.

Unfortunately there is no mandatory time limit for Circuit Court decisions. IIRC, the Ninth Circuit held onto Peruta for a couple of years before issuing the decision.

A lot will likely happen over the next year or so as lower court foot dragging may prompt a response from SCOTUS.

Always new in the northeast Ma. N.Y. and N.J. are the pits for 2nd Amendment rights!

I'm hoping a non-resident with deep pockets will challenge NY for not allowing non-residents to possess a handgun in NY. 'Can't even get a permit (unless you own property or a business in NY). Seems to me a recent Supreme Court decision should mandate allowing a non-resident to possess a handgun.

If I recall, same applies to South Carolina and they seem to be content with it.
