I second the motion on the NYPD and the FBI,
But but, Eric Holder said that it was Federal Home Security Agents that broke the case.

Unfortunately, in a free country, I wonder whether we will ever be able to stop this sort of thing. Unless you are stopping every car and asking every person for papers (like Nazi Germany) some idiot will be able to set off a bomb somewhere eventually.

Seriously, I've often wondered why some groups like NYPD, NYFD, FBI and others keep functioning at a high level long after the great leadership moves on. And you have others, take like NOPD, Atlanta PD or Chicago PD, that the wheels fall off almost immediately. Maybe it's the water or something. I can't figure it out.
On topic, it's great to see people focus and get 'er done.

However, I hate hearing the elected politicians crowing that they stopped this from happening.
What happened was that we got lucky with an inept attempt by the bomber. If his timer had worked or something hadn't ignited prematurely... a lot of good people would be dead now.
Same thing with the crotch bomber over Detroit.
The politicians are shameless and think that we're all stupid.

Good outcome, no thanks to Holder, Napolitano and Homeland Security. The TSA is incompetent beyond belief. The "rank and file" of first responders continue to hold things together despite PC leadership.
Why wouldn't they think we're all stupid? We keep reelecting them!
Oh dear! With a little luck he can rat out someone higher up. But rejoice, that won't save him! We'll send him to a place where he won't like the food --- That'll teach him. We will have to provide a house, car, job, savings account, etc. though......

Barely over 48 hours from discovery of the IED to an arrest. Local, state, and federal LEO's did darn good!
Not only do we have the greatest fighting force in the world, our community of LEO's in this nation are nothing to shake a stick at either...
