Oak. cop murders will put assault ban back on track

Liberal/democrat politicians are jumping for joy right now over the murders of those police officers in the usually tranquile little hamlet of Oakland California. Someone posted here that they think the gun ban won;t go on 'cause of some dissenting Dems. I guarentee you that will change now that they have this excuse. It just depends how fast they can do it to keep up with people's current level of emotion. After the Ok. City bombing Shumer(D) wanted every single cartridge to be tagged before sale, so we could track them if used in a crime. Republicans slowed that down and public sanity took over the emotion and it didn't pass. My heart goes out to the families of these officers and the few law abiding people that reside in that bloody hell hole, Oakland, California. Prepare to have your tragedy used for political gain by the communist, I mean the socialist, excuse me, the Democrat party. Sorry. I always get them mixed up.

C'mon Wyatt, this is a bit of an overstretch of the truth, don't you think?
 
That's just my tendency to exagerate a little. But when Bush was prez liberal democrats considered it TORTURE to make Guantanamo prisoners stay in a room that didn't have air conditioning. These are the same people who's consituants proudly wear Che on thier T shirts. Bush is a war criminal for water boarding prisoners to protct US, but Che Guevarra, who murdered un-tried disadents(capitalists) in that Havana prison is a big hero! I believe the Democrats wanted us to lose the war on terror so it would make Bush look bad and they could regain power. A few thousand more dead soldiers and a world dominated by radical daiper headed killers is a small price to pay for the socialistic utopia these people want to creat here. So, Geoff40, come to think of it, I didn't exagerate at all.

As emotionally charged as your post(s) are, I tend to agree with a good part of them. I do not believe that the anti-gun dems are "jumping for joy" over those officers getting killed. They do, however, use tradgedies like this to promote their agenda.

There has been a couple of very publicized shootings lately, and I am sure that Chucky and Diane are chomping at the bit to "strike while the iron's hot" as far as bringing back the AWB. They (and their leader Pelosi) are holding off right now because they know it's a political powder keg at this time.

The people are involved in a gun buying frenzy based on the knowledge of past leftist gun bans, and the economy is in the tank. They have their new "celebrity in chief" signing anything and everything that comes out of Washington, and they like that. They won't compromise their position of power at this time.

It will be coming, make no mistake, but not right now. The schemers already know when the time will be right. We don't.

I read 'Assault Rifle" in the article I read. That's why I brought this all up. If it wasn't a so called "assualt rifle" they will just milk this for gun control in general, starting first, of course with the assault ban since it's being talked about, anyway.

...two different guns were used according to the press...one at the traffic stop...and one at the residence...an "assault weapon" could be damn near anything in California...probably an SKS...which doesn't meet most "assault weapon" criteria anyway...

You hit a guy in the head with a brick in Ca. you're in trouble (unless you had a bad childhood). But you paint that brick black, put a pistol grip and folding stock on it, you have an assault brick. Now you're really in for it.

I think he's also a Democrat.

What amazes me is how every time the Dems start making noise about some kind of gun ban, these wholsale shootings pop up all over.

Sure. And while I don't disagree with much of the rest what is being said here, I otherwise guess I must be different than most of you, because the statement that Dems are jumping for joy over the murders of 4 LEOs is pretty distasteful. Its an inappropriate remark IMO, one that is not within the rules of discourse of this forum. On the same level as applauding a child molester. Grow up already.
 
I agree with "geoff40. Statements like " jumping for joy and dancing in the blood" are very distaseful. I believe the anti-gunners will use this incident to their advantage but statements like this wouldn't help us either.
 
Not as distasteful as having AMERICAN politicians rooting for the terrorists for the past eight years. And that's what the Dems have been doing. All for their own political gain. Since they wanted the terrorists to win, they wanted us to lose. That means more dead soldiers and more attacks here. So they aren't dancing in the blood of these dead officers, Feinstein and Shumer are rolling around naked in their blood. Like they did at Senator Welstone's funeral. They couldn't help but turn that into a leftist rally. I should be praised for showing such restraint in describing the mentality of these goulish exploitive creeps!
 
I'm not sure this one will be as bad as some of the other shootings from a political standpoint.

The BG was on parole and had an extensive criminal record in a state that has an existing AWB....a lot of good it did. Some of the other shootings have been by individuals with no prior history of violence who the libs will argue would have been stopped if not for the availability of the firearm when they "snapped". The BG in this instance wouldn't have been stopped anywhere, anytime or by any laws.

As well, isn't it likely that there was a better chance that this lifetime offender wouldn't have been able to kill these policeman had he remained in jail rather than be paroled as opposed to any firearms restrictions that might have been in play. I'd like to know who paroled this thug.

I agree with M28. He was already a convicted felon. There are already laws in place against convicted felons having firearms. Laws already in place against such obviously didn't matter. One could factually argue that this would actually help the 2nd Amendment cause in that it shows that criminals do not follow laws and only serves to penalize law abiding gun owners. In this case legislation already in place, of all places Kalifornia with it's A+ Brady Campaign rating, failed miserably. If guns are illegal then only criminals will have guns.

My thoughts and prayers with the fallen officers families and friends.
 
Well said M28. I agree with everything you said 100%. Only one thing. Your statement is based on facts. The left will conveniently leave all that out, and spin it to read that the EBRs are so readily available that even parolees can get them. The mind numb non-shooting/ non-gun owning public doesn't know any better, and will fall for it hook, line and sinker.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. I wish I wasn't so cynical, but this kind of spin happens on an hourly basis 24/7.
