I have a set of magna OEM grips for a N frame and a K frame. Both are square butt grips. However, during a recent move, the grips and screws have become separated.

At this time after much searching it appears "long gone". I've gone to used parts locations and not been able to find a proper gripscrew. Does the gripscrew that S&W used on the magna stocks, exist in another life?

If so I could trouble someone here to provide me with the dimensions of the grip screws. Thread pitch, length, diameter of shaft and head of screw.

Personally who (me) ever thought there would be a day that these OEM Magna screws would be difficult as hen's teeth to find.

I recall reading that True Value hardware stores carry them. If you have the same grip screws from other stocks, you can probably bring them to a store and find matches for them.

The thread on S&W made stock screws is 5x44. Length varies from ca. 1 1/8" to 1 5/8", depending on stock style and frame size. Call "Jack First" in Rapid City, SD, Phone 605-343-8481, They make them in-house.

True Value and Ace Hardware carry what they refer to as "gun screws", but they do not carry either S&W stock screws or sideplate screws, in spite of what others say they "have heard"!

i get 1.10" overall including head and 5x44 thread( an oddball)
my true value has several 'gun screw' assortment boxes with 5x44 x1
(without head) which may be long enough

The only drawback that I've seen at JF's, is that shipping is a flat rate of $12, unless you spend $100 or more. They make good stuff, so order a few extra side plate screws, along with some extra springs and you're good to go.

Brownell's sells grip screws in a complete set or in a kit with several sets including the special drill bit for those who make their own grips. Either way they are not that expensive.

Robertson Trading Post either Direct or on eBay sells them a pack of 10 for $60. Robertson stock number is GRKLSCS, or eBay item #730745048097.
I've never ordered them or even tried them so I don't know how they fit, but pictures on eBay look good Except the screw head seems to be more of a Dome head style than a Pan head style.
