Were TT and TH's offered on model 17's and 14's before the numbered designations came along and replaced the original K22 and K38 designations?
Thanks,
Ed

Nightowl's answer is correct.

This, however, is a misunderstanding:
before the numbered designations came along and replaced the original K22 and K38 designations?
Model numbers did not replace the names.

Before 1958, these two models were called the K-22 Masterpiece and the K-38 Masterpiece. When model numbers came along in 1958 (designated in 1957), the two became the K-22 Masterpiece Model 17 and the K-38 Masterpiece Model 14. Model numbers were added to the names.

Pretty late on some. I have a wide rib pre M17 shipped in 1956 with target stocks and target hammer. They are the unrelieved type in walnut. The revolver is in 99% condition. Big Larry

Thanks guys. I was looking to confirm that a K-17 which I'm thinking of buying, and which has a TH and TT, "could" be all original.

"When were the target stocks (no football cutout) available?"
From the notes I have obtained here on the forum, K targets were introduced at the same time as the target hammer and N targets were available as an option about 1952. The "football" relief came about in 1955.
