Feralmerril invited us back to Utah and it may shock him but by golly we're coming!!!

Get your beer stocked up cuz you know we like to have a couple when we Wisconsinites sit for a spell!!

I haven't been to Utah for almost 30 years, and I remember it as a beautiful wide open space with fabulous people and amazing scenery....

Now that the oldest child is 17 going on 30, I figure it's time to return to show the kids what a beautiful country the west is....

Merrill, I will call you and we have booked a place in Marysvale. I'm bringing out a trailer loaded with ATV's and I'm looking for a beautiful scenic ride in the mountains. I hope we can meet up maybe, as you have more stories than anyone I know!!!

Wish us luck, we haven't had enough lately, and this trip is goin' for broke!!! :D

Wow! Guess I better get the quad and trailer hooked up! We have heavy rain forecast sunday and monday. Its raining now. Hopefully it will clear up about when he gets to utah. Theresa just now is getting on her feet and starting phyiscal theropy after a very invasive foot operation. She hasnt been able to ride at all this summer. Hopefully she might be able to handle a easy ride.
Marysville is the bullseye for the popular piute trail system about 95 miles NE of us.
Some of those trails out of marysville top out over 11,000 ft! I am looking forward to hooking up. Hope he can read this but sounds like he is on the road with no internet. My wife just got a e-mail from a gf of hers where she and her husband got rained out of the bryce canyon atv ralley. I am hopeing to talk lost lake into trying those trails too.

Well we hooked up and had a nice ride and good time yesterday. Lost lake is heavy duty! He towed 5 atvs out from wisconsin! Nice family and the rain held off until minuets after we loaded up at the end of the ride near bryce canyon. We seen antelope and deer. Finished up eating at a bbq place in panquitch.
The wife and I had a close one. We were on the road heaaded back in rain and for some reason theresa had me pull over to show lost lake another possible good ride for the next day. I turned around, started off on the busy highway and lost my trailer! The large cotter pin had inexplainably come off the large pin that holds the trailer ball on the hitch! I was just starting out and probley hadnt yet reached 10 mph when it happened. It was raining and traffic was heavy as it was near the national park. Fortunatly lost lake was even carrying a extra pin and cotter pin! He go`s prepaired! I think it was a act of God that had theresa have me pull over when I didnt want to. Had that happened at the 65 mph that I was doing it would have been bad. I have never heard of a pin comeing apart before. The odd thing was I stopped on the shoulder of a narrow two lane highway, the trailer was visably disconnected with the tounge down on the highway, all seven of us standing in the rain looking at it and here comes a utah highway patrolman. Theresa waves at him and he doesnt stop! My hero!
Anyway we had a good time!

Merrill,

We had a great time and even though the weather forecast was for rain every day, the weather was fabulous except for that first Monday.

How about those Utah highway patrolmen? He actually sped up as he saw us. Maybe there was an accident he was going to, but he should have had his lights on then.

Folks, Merrill and Theresa are some of the nicest folks anyone could ever hope to meet. Thanks to both of you for taking time out of your life to come all the way up to meet us and show us some fabulous trails. The time we spent together will always be a treasured memory. One that I'm sure Theresa has pictures of... :p

I'll write about our adventure on another post. It got more exciting as the week wore on.

Thanks again Merrill!!! ;)

Theresa downloaded a bunch of pictures and has more to go. I will try to put some on photobucket but my photobucket is full. Have to figure something out. Both of us have been laid up with the flu right after we left you. On top of that I came down with a case of the gout and only leave the recliner for frequent bathroom trips! We both really enjoyed meeting you and your fine family. Wish we could have showed you more areas. There are good rides around the ariz/utah border for winter too as that area doesnt get much snow and is too hot for summer rideing. Theresa said she will send pictures to your private e-mail.
We really enjoyed it! Its rained here a lot since you left.

For anyone reading this, so you understand, Theresa loves to take pictures. She was riding on the back of Merrill's ATV and her arms were up in the air holding that camera taking pictures the entire time. :D

She took pictures meeting us, driving to the unloading site, unloading, starting our atv's, riding, eating, you get the picture ( :p )

I'm sure she has a lot of excellent photos to share. I always wish I took more pictures.

I will upload my picture of Merrill and Theresa on that mountain top! Still haven't recovered from the drive back yet. 27 hours of non-stop driving, with me guzzling coffee, 5 Hour Energy, Monster Energy Drink and Red Bull. My head hurt and my guts boiled, but we had kind of an emergency and I wanted to get home!

Theresa takes excellent pictures and I for one am waiting to see them.

I'm glad everyone had a good time. Sounds like a lot of fun.
