It was an amazing show. So many good guns and accessories I just can't believe it. And using uncommonly good sense, I did't bring along money! :)

It was a S&W Forum convention as much as anything. Many of our characters were there and in rare form. And I did meet some I haven't met before.

So many really nice guns, and prices, while high weren't out of sight (or maybe I'm just numb.) A lot of good leather, even some HH Heiser and a nice scabbard by Bianchi. DanT even had a holster (along with its gun) for a Jet. I have no idea what would make it different from a M19 holster, but its clearly marked.

Guess we need to smack GF up along side the head for not buying the matching 38/44. Either he has much higher standards, or he's not real sharp at grading his guns.

I did have a nice talk with Keith Brown. Neither of us can make any progress moving along in the show, too many people to see and talk to. If that isn't bad enough, I sat with David Carroll for a minute, and I parted ways with him over an hour later. So many nice guns, and a bunch of Randall knives. All I ended up buying was a little white duck! :)

i was there...always a great time...bought a NIB 422, several boxes of vintage .410 ammo, and got to talk to Don "Duck" Combs for awhile :)

gained some knowledge from him on Winchester Shotguns.

Good to see you again RBurg, as always, enjoyed, though you never do stay very long, you gotta stay and SET for a while, heck, Keith does and he gets his 'second wind' and off he goes...(thanks Keith, appreciate the 'break'....)
good to see all the guys, as well as the awesome displays.............
all in all, a VERY GOOD show too...........

I'll have you know I've been on safari this weekend to eastern KY in search of.... a kind of rare whiskey and could not attend the fabled Ohio gun show.

And yes, I do have "much higher standards" than you but in the case of the 38/44 the last chapter hasn't been written yet.

Just wait 'til June when we meet at NGD. I'll need a a strapping lad such as yourself, to pack armloads of rare gems to the truck for me.

Had a great time and stayed longer than I usually do. I'm 20 minutes away and sometimes go both days. Got to meet VM in person this meeting. A real nice guy. Saw Dant, Joe, Roger, Lee's cousin ;), and George as always. Also met a friend of VM's, MJS5678. Nice people for sure. Apparently I missed a few of you!

I picked up a "new" 38 year old Model 10 and will post pics this week. (...thanks for the push Mike!):)

Great show and displays!

Wait...What....You aren't talking about the engraved Mellon .22 Outdoorsman that GF bought, for the price of a reblued shooter, from the guy with the table almost next to you. The one you looked at several times and passed up. Now you're telling GF he's wrong for not paying double for less. Sounds like a case of woulda shoulda coulda to me. ;)

Seriously Dick, what were you thinking when you passed that gun up? Must have been I'm out of storage space for cash so I don't want to make any more. :D

I have an excuse, I was minding my table and buying out of shape 4 screw mod 18 reblued shooter guns that I could swap money with to forum members. Thanks for bailing me out. :D:D

I was there both days and had a great time. Had a good time
talking to everyone that stopped at the table. The wife was with
me this time so I did my buying when she wasen't looking. Came
home with 2, S&W model 547 and a 38/44(already posted).

We also went to the member's dinner Saterday night at the Wright
Patterson Air Force Base. It was a long day but it was well worth it, this
was the last dinner there and it will take place in a different location next
year.

I heard rumor's that the OGCA my have a show at the IX Center in
Cleveland in October, any truth to this?

yes, there will be a show in October at the IX center....heard the same thing at the meeting

I was thinking I've already got way too many prewar K22s. The last thing I needed was another (and it didn't even have the box with it!) Joe was tortured by it all weekend. It was across the aisle from us (directly). Had I known there was a matching Outdoorsman in 38/44, I'd have bought it. Then I would have had remorse forever. He's building a collection, I'm liquidating mine.

And this should go as a lesson to those who never find or see a bargain at a gun show. That poor forelorn K22 sat there in the guy's case Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday.

Now GF tells us he's looking for another K22! That boy is a glutton for punishment. Good thing he's made out of cash.
