Christmas is not a big deal for me and I really can't get into the spirit of things until I get around to watching this video. Darlene Love's last performance of "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home" on David Letterman's show in 2014. I was fortunate enough to see this performance on the night she performed it and it was magical. Enjoy.

What movie or piece of music gets you into the Christmas spirit?

Wow, what a talented lady and what a fabulous production number. I got chills watching it.

The song that gets me in the Christmas spirit is without question "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry. I sang it for the caroling contest at the Bar Association Christmas party one year.

And without doubt, every Christmas I have to watch "It's a Wonderful Life." Not only have I watched the movie more times than I can remember, I appeared in two live stage productions of it.

Rusty, I guess I'm a non-traditionalist (is that a word), in that I prefer TSO & other modern music to traditional Christmas Carols. I am a huge TSO fan. My ex and I got to see them in 2 previous performances here in Dayton, (when Paul O'Neill was still writing, producing & directing), truly an experience. I just listened to "Christmas Eve And Other Stories", "The Christmas Attic" and "The Lost Christmas Eve" CD's last weekend.

Joel Hoekstra is the lead guitarist/arranger/ music director for TSO. He is also the current lead guitarist with Whitesnake. I follow him year round especially in studio ensembles he does.

To quote Mark Knopfler: "the boy can play".
