It's cool to have a gun with a big long barrel but I can't think of an earthly reason to have one. For one thing, it would be just a tad nose heavy. And how do you carry it? It certainly wouldn't be used in a 'quick-draw' contest.

Never made sense to me. A five-inch barrel is my limit, and I prefer four.

I agree with the muzzle heavy issue for the full caliber guns - yet they still hold a certain cool factor. As to the Colt .22 buntline, I picked up a well used one for a steal several years ago and it's fantastic! In that "weight", it points perfect and is very accurate.

My brother "Louisiana Joe" stole one not long ago and brought it up here to shoot. A fun shooter and very accurate.

There's a cowboy shooter that competes with a pair of 'em. Named 'em "Justice" and "Mercy" (or something like that). Has this very funky double buscadero rig. You know how cowboy holster tiedowns go around your lower thigh, above the knee? His holsters tie down to his ankles.

Seriously though, I know you meant "small of the back." When you abbreviate it on here, all that shows up is the three asterisks.
Speaking of which, I don't have an as te risk by carrying small of back.

Boys I stole one a coupla years back. The balance is unbelievable. I love to shoot this gun. It, surprisinlgy, is not wieldy at all. I don't carry it but I would think a crossdraw rig would be the ticket if I did. I thought it had the wrong grips when I bought it. However, the gun with wood grips is worth a tad more than the black Colt plastic.

That's pretty good, Alpo. What's the old expression about "justice tempered with mercy"? In revolvers, I can certainly understand the "justice" part, but I doubt if "mercy" fits very often, unless it's a coup de grace after "justice" has spoken!
And judging by his tiedown arrangement, I have to think your cowboy shooter's nickname has gotta be "Peglegs."
